{You know, I adore sending out Christmas cards – actually I love sending out cards for any holiday, special event or just to say hello to a person I hold dear. I’ve already drafted my 2009 winter holiday mailing list, but before I finalize it for certain, I want to track down my cards for this year. While searching I came across these delightfully chic vintage inspired cards from Fred Flare, which are part of a set of three different designs that seem to telegraph the wonderful style of illustration that often peppers cookbooks, magazines and just about all manner of publications during the late 50s and early 60s. If these festive cards are calling your name, bop on by Fred Flare and pick up a package of nine cards (three of each design) for $14.00 (US) – according to the site “5% of the sale price of the cards will benefit causes like the Best Friends Animal Society and the Arbor Day Foundation”, how fantastic is that?}
Have you begun thinking about your holiday card list yet, or do you prefer to wait until the Thanksgiving dishes have been cleared away before even contemplating anything to do with Christmas? Have you found your cards for this year, or are you on the prowl for an affordable, adorable set of winter stationery at the moment, too?
Those are so cute! I love sending out cards too, I have an all around stationary fetish!
ReplyDeleteI love sending out Christmas cards, and those are so cute! Fred Flare puts out such fun stuff!

ReplyDeleteOh! I am such a stationery addict! I have so many Christmas cards - I need to get more people to send them to! hehe I just keep seeing cute ones on Etsy and can't contain myself. So I have more than enough cards for all my list! But I might pop on by Fred Flare anyway... sigh.
ReplyDeleteThose are marvelous. I also love that they're nice and versatile.

I always get started early in November and post whenever I have some cards done. I find people appreciate them whenever they show up so don't worry about whether to wait til a certain time to send them out, etc. My favourite cards come from Paperchase who usually have some retro-inspired designs at a pretty good cost. Check them out at www.paperchase.co.uk - great for all those with a stationery fetish!

ReplyDeleteOo I love writing proper letters, I just love to write my guy proper handwritten love letters, spray them with my scent and seal with a kiss. There's something so much more special and romantic to a properly thought and penned letter! Have a lovely Friday and weekend doll x
ReplyDeleteI love cards. Actually, I love any Good Mail that isn't bills or advertisments. I have some cute peppermint cards I bought a couple years ago, but I'm just not diggin' them for this year's season. I haven't found the right cards yet. One year, I made cards. My oldest daughter (then 4) colored the cards after I inked the design of poinsettias, and I glittered them up to send out. Everybody seemed to think they were darling.
ReplyDeleteGood evening, wonderful dear, thank you so very much for your marvelous comments. It's fantastic to know many of you are also fans of writing snail mail, and also that you've begun your Christmas cards list (*phew* not too early on my part ;D).
ReplyDeleteI love hearing from each of you, and send scores of wishes your way for an amazing and gorgeous weekend!
♥ Jessica
