Having a spot of build your own pin-up girl fun

Earlier this summer, a lovely fellow vintage blogger named Sean who writes at The Fictionista shared a delightful online pin-up doll maker that she discovered by way of the blog Constantly Alice, and which (adoring both dolls and pin-ups as I do) I've been dying to post about myself ever since.

As Fridays are rarely the time when one wants to hanker down with a hefty post (our minds being filled to the brim, as they are, with thoughts of the impending weekend), I thought today, smack dab in the middle of September, would be a great time to share this addictively cool site with you (below you'll find one of the gals I created - who intentionally looks a fair bit like me - with this terrific generator).

Doll Divine vintage pin-up doll maker generator, redheaded pin-up girl

Whether you love dolls, interactive graphic makers, pin-up girls, or all three, there's a high chance you'll be a fan of this completely enjoyable doll generator, and soon find yourself whipping up more pin-up gals than Alberto Vargas could shake a paintbrush at!

I hope you have a blast creating pin-ups (which you can style in looks from various decades) in your own image or whatever looks strike your fancy, and that you all have an absolutely marvelous weekend ahead!

Oooohh, and for even more pinup girl approved fun, be sure to enter the giveaway that I'm holding this week in conjunction with gluten-free cosmetic company Red Apple Lipstick, for your chance to win a RAL product of your choice (hurry, giveaway ends on Sunday).

  1. This is a really cute and fun little thing to do! And it does look a bit like you - and me too!

Thanks for your comment on my lace dress, I have to admit it's not vintage at all, just a cheap high street one.

    1. :D Sorry for that, dear Kathleen, but if it's any consolation, I lost the better part of a weekend after I read Sean's post.

  9. Dear Jessica, I have just transformed what was an otherwise uninspired afternoon into hours of fun, thanks to reading your post on dolldivine.com - thanks for sharing. I've made more sassy pin-up-style avatars than I dare mention and am exploring what other styles the site has to offer. Ever so slightly addicted. Husband due home from work soon. No home-cooked dinner on the horizon anytime soon, oops! Thanks Jessica and DollDivine.com for keeping me out of the kitchen and away from the hot stove.

  13. Hi Jessica! This is sooooo adorable! I grew up playing paper dolls...mostly making my own, and then making the clothes to go with them. I used to love playing with them, and I think this will be my grown-up substitute! Your pin-up looks so like you I think! Such fun! Hugs, Tania ♥

  18. Hi sweet ladies,

Thank you all very much for your lovely comments. I hope I wasn't at fault for causing too many hours to disappear from your Fridays and Saturdays (I know I've already lost a few on that super fun site myself, too). By all means feel free to zip an image of your pinup dolls my way or post a link to them here, I'd love to see your cute creations, too.
