Towards the end of this past January, I wrote - in rather great detail - about my first experiences with online ladies clothing seller, eShakti.com. The month before I'd received a complimentary item (a gorgeous skirt, which will appear here late in the spring in an outfit post unto itself) to review from them, and then (the same week) opted to purchase two dresses from them out of my own pocket.
Despite selecting the what should have been my correct size, neither dress fit (they were a full two inches small than the measurements stated) and so both are pretty much write-offs for me (I think I'm going to sell them and recoup a bit of my loses). As well, I had issues with the insanely high courier fees from the company (DHL) that eShakti used to ship my (paid) order to me. I talked at length about both of these points in my previous eShakti post, so I won't rehash them here so soon after that
In the time since that piece went live, I've spoken to a member of eShakti's customer service about the problems I encountered, and can honestly say that they were receptive to what I had to say. As well, they were very kind in helping to make up for some of the issues I ran into (for example, I was issued a $50.00 refund to cover the cost of one of the dresses that did not fit me due to the sizing being smaller than stated).
Just a few days ago, I heard from eShatki again, when they offered me the chance to select three dresses from their (absolutely beautiful) new spring lineup, one of which I will be receiving for free to review.
Just which of these three dresses I'm going to be sent, remains to be seen (the selection, I believe, is random, based on stock and sizes available), but I loved all three and would be happy with any one of them.
Knowing the fit issued I'd encountered with the two dresses I'd bought from eShakti in December, I selected the review dress two full sizes larger than I usually wear (normally a six would fit based on the measurements of their garments, but to hopefully be on the safe side, I went with a size ten). I'm hoping that this will ensure a better fit this time around and am thoroughly looking forward to receiving my review dress and blogging about it in a future post.
So smitten was I was eShakti's spring offerings actually, that I thought given how today is the second day of March - the month that will, at long last, kick off spring again - I'd share some of my favourite garments in their current lineup with all of you.

If any of these pieces are calling your name, I'm very happy to be able to offer all of my wonderful readers a 20% off coupon that's valid until March 20, 2013 on all eShakti.com purchases (excluding items in eShakti's Overstock category).
All you have to do is enter promo code CHRNCLLYVN before you checkout to receive 20% off your eShatki entire order (this promo code is not case sensitive and does not require a minimum order to be placed for it to be valid).
As I'd discussed in my post last January, I really want to make eshakti's garments work for me and to adore their site, service and products. Their offerings are lovely, many have a vintage vibe to them, and the ability to customize certain elements of any of their pieces thoroughly appeals to me.
It's my sincere hope that that this new review dress they're kindly sending me will fit perfectly and that it will be able to make an eShakti devotee out of me once and for all.
*EDIT* Monday: I've heard back from eShakti and the coupon code has been fixed (it seems all the coupon codes they sent out to various bloggers recently failed to work from March 1-3rd). I just created a sample order to test if the code was working and it is indeed.
eShakti.com has also extended the duration that this sale from the 10th until March 20th, giving you ten more days to save 20% off any order you place with them.
Thoses dresses are to die for! I mean it....! xx

Keeping my fingers crossed for a nice fit for you! I'm glad that the customer service team helped you out!
ReplyDeleteattempted the code, and it told me it wasn't valid. Are you able to clear this up?
ReplyDeleteHi there, I'm very sorry to hear that. I copied and pasted the exact code that was emailed to me by the eShatki customer service team in this email. I didn't create it (they did on their end) and have no control over it. I wholeheartedly believed that it would work (if I didn't, I wouldn't have blogged about it).
DeleteI'm going to email eShakti right now to try and get to the bottom of this matter and will report back here as I find anything out.
Thank you,
♥ Jessica
Have they changed their shipping rules? Will customers still be hit with customs costs? I am bit surprised because I bought a heavy weight Bakelite bracelet from India a few months ago and the seller paid the shipping, charged $24 for the bracelet and I never heard anything about customs. Furthermore, that store credit they promised for orders above whatever price, wouldn't you still encounter the same shipping issues when they would send that out? I have awkward sizing and worry I will have to return I get, even if it is a larger size.
ReplyDeleteHi Sonia, no, as far as I'm aware, nothing has changed in terms of their shipping policies or the courier service that they use (DHL) when sending to Canada (I'm not sure what shipping method/methods are used for the States). I told eShakti's customer service team all about the issues I encountered on this front, but again, as far as I know, no changes have been made to their shipping methods.
DeleteFor exact answers to your questions, you'd probably be best contacting eShakit either through their site, Facebook, or Twitter. I can only speak from my own experience with them and wouldn't want to accidentally give you any mistaken information.

I love all of the items you've included pictures of! I would buy them all if I had the money.
ReplyDeleteI just love eShakti! I have 2 new dresses that I can't wait to wear this spring and summer from them. Love the swan blouse!
ReplyDeletewow those dresses are really adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely dresses, I will definitely have a look at their website. Wishing you a great day doll!
ReplyDeleteGasp! Sigh! *faints* I've been falling in love with yellow lately and I just adore the yellow gingham and corset style dresses! Will have to try recreating them since they won't ship over here. I hope your new garments are much more satisfactory for you than your previous selection. No doubt they'll be super cute!
ReplyDeleteI adore all of them! The yellow poplin dress, though, is my favorite! It just shouts summer!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing which dress they send you! I looked at their spring lineup and nothing really grabbed my eye. I'll try back later.
ReplyDeleteLet us now if you get a new code I was already to buy that swan blouse but it also told me code was invalid :(
ReplyDeleteI'm sincerely sorry, my dear. I'm really disappointed, yet again, in this company (my dealings with them have proved to be the perfect embodiment of the "fool me once" expression we all know).
DeleteI've not gotten a reply to my email to them from yesterday yet. The moment I hear anything from eShakti, I will post about it here.

Oooh too many cute things! How can one even choose :D
ReplyDeleteA shame they haven't activated the code they have given you for your readers, not your fault Jessica as you say it was given to you. They have some nice items on their website, I bet your excited to receive your dresses to review :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Katy, that really means a lot to me. I've been feeling rather mortified with embarrassment about this (it totally put a damper of my weekend), as I love my readers so much and would never knowing give you guys a coupon code that didn't work. I'm really hope eShakti gets back to me and fixes the code for those who did want to avail of it.
DeleteThank you again, sweetie - I needed to hear that.

Those dresses are all so beautiful! So sad they don't ship to the UK! :-( Hope your next order runs a bit more smoothly for you, sounds like hard work! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt worked!!! *insert happy snoopy dance here*
ReplyDeleteI just placed my order a couple of minutes ago, and the code was quite functional. I entered it into the second coupon space, since I ended up using my new shopper code in the first space. Happy shopping to all of you!
-Lauren
Hi Lauren, eShakti had a major glitch with all of the coupon codes that they sent out to readers recently (I just found this out from their CS team yesterday). They weren't working between March 1-3, but were fixed yesterday, which is why it was able to work for you. I'm so happy it did and really hope you enjoy your order.
Delete♥ Jessica
I am so happy they managed to get the glitch fixed! Hooray!
DeleteI am also quite elated that the sale has been extended... Or perhaps I should be worried? There are so many other dresses I am quite tempted to give a whirl! :)
-Lauren
Everything is beautiful, but I think that yellow poplin dress has my name on it! I am swooning over it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the discount code. Not sure it's in my budget even then, but if I used some credit card points, I might be able to swing it. After all, summer IS coming!
Love and hugs,
Patti
I LOVE the navy banded skirt! How fun!

My first eShakti sample was perfect, but the one I received a few weeks ago, in the exact same size and measurements previously ordered, was several sizes too small, almost childlike in fact. As they requested customization, I doubt they want it back. They have not responded to any requests to return it. So I'm seeking a very chic 8 year old girl to wear it...lol.
ReplyDeleteI was so so so sad to find out they don't ship to the Netherlands :( I was shopping my brains out hihihi
ReplyDeleteIt is surprising that they haven't expanded their shipping radius beyond Canada and America yet. I'm sorry, my dear, hopefully they will soon.
