Good Monday morning greetings, everyone, I hope that you each had a beautiful weekend. As you may recall from my mentioning it in both February and March's month in review posts here, this week - tomorrow, to be exact - I need to go in for surgery again.
{Time to say go say hello to the lovely nurses at Penticton Regional - if only they still sported beautiful mid-century uniforms like this, that should work make going to the hospital a whole lot more fun for a vintage loving lass such as myself! Image source.}
As a result, while I'm recouping, I'm going to be taking the next several days off from blogging. By which I mean, I won't be posting anything new here on Chronically Vintage for a little while.
I've learned over the years that one never knows just how quickly - or slowly, as the case may be - they'll recover from surgery, so I won't set a prescribed number of days until I return here. Assuming things go positively though, I'd imagine that two or so weeks would be about how long it will take before I'm doing well enough to start writing new posts again, but only time will tell.
I don't honestly know how much I'll be online in general throughout the rest of April, but as always will do my best to visit your wonderful blogs and connect with you on social media (where you can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram) as circumstances permit.
{Plenty of rest and healing sleep will be the order of the day for the remainder of the month from tomorrow onward. Image source.}
Thank you each very much for your understanding about this brief medically dictated hiatus. I wholeheartedly look forward to returning to blogging asap, and want you to know that I'll miss all of you a great deal while I'm convalescing.
Sad to hear about the break, but I hope you get well soon dear Jessica! We'll all miss you! <3

ReplyDeleteAnd in *my* mind, you will be served by lovely nurses wearing the 'couture' uniforms of the London Hospital from Call the Midwife. Oh those sleeves!
(I imagined scary matron to be my Nan while watching it- since that is precisely who my Nan was back then ;)- a scary matron!).
Feel better soon!!! Relax and enjoy your sweet puppy. And don't forget to have lots of breakfast in bed, while you read all the novels you want!

Hi everyone, I cannot begin to thank you enough for your immensely caring well wishes. It's been a long week, but the Tuesday's surgery is behind me now, and I'm recouping at home, where Tony, my wonderful mom, and our pets are lavishing oodles TLC on me while I'm on strict bed rest.
ReplyDeleteI suspect that I may have been a touch too optimistic when I predicted my recovery time, but as always, we'll just see how each day unfolds and hope for the best.
Each of your incredibly sweet, caring comments (blog, Facebook, Instagram, etc) and emails this week has meant the world to me and truly helped bring a much needed dose of cheer my way. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
I adore and miss you all,
♥ Jessica
My dearest girl, Jessica, I'm overwhelmed with joy about the lot of more than friendly comments on my last posts. Even more as I know that you're not well yet. Yes, we would go to the Tweed Run together - if only in our dreams - every time we'll get the chance. It's so bad that we're so far apart. Otherwise we could sit together and dream of this fabulous event or make plans. We would sip tea from vintage cups with the most beautiful roses on them. We would eat tiny little cakes from flower plates. We would discuss our Tweed outfits over and over. And maybe in the end we'll find a way to take part.
ReplyDeleteBut know I want to let you know that I'm thinking of you as a very brave and optimistic person. I'm crossing my fingers for you and hope your recovery time will be short and that you don't have to suffer from too much pain. Really too bad that Canada is so far away.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you good news on the health front. Hugs and kisses from Miss Maple who is a bit nervous about her journey to England.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
