A few nights ago, as the very last vestiges of the setting sun vanished for another sleepy eve, I went out to get our mail and was almost overwhelmed by how strikingly beautiful the weather was, even at that late hour. In fact, it was the time of the day that helped to make it so magical. The air was warm to the point of feeling electrically charged, yet a solid wind blew, tinged with heat, as the sky turned shades of spilled ink indigo and jet black.
I walked leisurely to and from the mail box, trying to impart the heat of each step into my soul, which still felt partially frozen from last winter. Returning to our wee front stoop, I sat and looked up at the heavens, thanking the universe for the gift of this beautiful night and for the wonder that is summer from start to finish.
There is an abundance of things to adore about this season, even if - unlike myself - the heat isn't one of them for you (the hotter, the better for me, so long as it's a dry heat of the type that we're fortunate to get here most of the time). It is on precisely some of those seasonal joys, perks, and highlights that I'm focusing today's selection of 25 Vintage Deals Under $100.
Whether you prefer AC and a chilled fruit salad, hot dogs on that beach at mid-day, or a simple al fresco picnic as dusk rolls in, there is beauty and joy in every last minute of summertime and I for one, am truly grateful that we still have over two more months still of it to make the very most of. For now, though, let's delve into these delightful deals on summery vintage, handmade, and vintage appropriate goodies that are sure to appeal to even the biggest fan of winter amongst us! :)

As I sat on the front stairs and gazed at the first pulsating stars of the evening, I wished with all my might to capture the temperature, the vitality of the warm air, and the whole season itself and keep it there forever. Alas, such is not possible, but I did bank as much of it as I could in my memory to see me through when the icy breath of Old Man winter returns to breath down my neck again.
While seasons are temporary, pieces like those well priced examples in today's post can last far longer than just three months and are a great way to keep the spirit of the season going long after the last beach day of the year. And that is certainly something to be thankful for unto itself.
Have an amazing, sunshine filled second half of July, my dear friends!!!
love those handmade soaps and sunglasses!
ReplyDeleteAll this improves my mood! I fell in love apricot and pink dress!

Some gorgeous items here Jessica, I particularly love those sunglasses and number 21, that beautiful brooch x
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, sweet gal. Isn't that antique hand painted pink glass brooch darling? I almost wonder how I brought myself to list it in my shop - it's me to a tee. If it sits around for ages, I might just have to take it down and give it a permanent home in my own collection. :) Of course I hope that someone else who loves it every bit as much comes along first and then gets to do the the same themselves.
DeleteHave a terrific Tuesday,
♥ Jessica
Very much so!!! I'd top that combo off with a pale natural straw hat and handbag and likely some white, green or light brown shoes.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment, dear Dawn. Have a splendid middle of July!
♥ Jessica
Those popsicle soaps are *adorable* and so perfect for a summer party! Anything peach is right up my alley, too, and if only those pink gloves were baby blue (believe it or not, I don't have any pink shoes...right now). Darling finds as always, quite the treat to peruse during my break from packing!
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Jen, thank you very much for both of your terrific blog comments this week. I hear you there! I don't own any pink shoes myself at the moment either. It's been quite a while since I last had a pair actually, come to think of it. I don't have any light/baby blue ones, but would adore some there as well. If I acquire any similar blue gloves for the shop, I'll be sure to let you know.
DeleteHave a beautiful week,
♥ Jessica
Great finds I love the glasses

I'm crazy about those seagull shakers! I grew up on a bay, so seagulls were a main fixture of the scenery, but now I live inland and feel like I never see them.
ReplyDeleteThey've been a mainstay of my landscape for much of my life as well, from my early days in Vancouver to living on the Atlantic ocean in Dublin and right here in the sunny Okanagan. I know what you mean. When I've lived more inland (like Calgary, AB) where they're not as common, it was a bit strange for sure.
DeleteThank you very much for your lovely comment - have a great week!
♥ Jessica
Oh my..those popcicle soaps.... to the tiki bracelet to the fact that you wear gloves with all your amazing outfits... makes me want to fly out there tomorrow and spend a WEEK with you Jessica! x Your blog is a piece of sanity, happiness and reflection in my busy life/week. Coffee in hand, I peruse your weekly topics, tasting each word, relishing in the gorgeous pictures and gleaming inspiration with each meticulous outfit post. I wish you and yours a happy and healthy summer full of sunshine, fresh flowers, fat bumble bees and lazy hazy days. Erin xx
ReplyDeleteSweet Erin, thank you very much for your truly lovely, touching message. I can't begin to tell you how much your words mean to me. I know that this is one of those comments that will help to revive my blogging mojo the next time it takes a long walk off a short cliff (to revive a common expression from my youth). But seriously, it means so much to me to know that you enjoy and derive such pleasure from my blog. Thank you deeply!
DeleteMassive hugs!!!
♥ Jessica
*PS* We soooo have to finally hang out in person one of these days! BC, AB, right smack dab in the middle of the Rockies, it doesn't matter - it just needs to happen! :)
Thank you so much for doing this roundup! It's a lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteI love the seagull shakers, myself! I wish I had a beach house I could decorate, now.
Hi sweet Sabrina, it's my absolute pleasure. This is definitely one of the biggest and most time consuming reoccurring posts that I pen, but I know that it's a favourite of some of my readers and I enjoy covering a different theme (in it) each month, so for now it's staying put and I actually already have the next two topics thought up and ready to go when their respective months are upon us again.
DeleteMany thanks for your great comment. Have a marvelous week!
♥ Jessica
So many cute accessories here - but the sparkly peach might be my favourite! You just can't deny its cuteness and how summery it feels! Funnily enough, I've just acquired a white dress that isn't a million miles away from this Blue Velvet one - albeit shorter in length. In fact, I'm intending to post it today while the weather here is desperately clinging onto summer! x
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fabulous? I've purchased a few pieces from Summer Blue and I can't sing their praises highly enough. This peach is way up on my wishlist from them and I hope I can snag one later in the year.
DeleteVery cool! I'll be catching up on recent blog feeds today or tomorrow (hopefully!) and really look forward to seeing your new frock.
Thanks for your great comment - big hugs!
♥ Jessica
Oh, don't make me think... :) Cause you say that seasons are temporary and I started thinking "everything is temporary"... and I hate thinking of that :) But let me be more positive now :) Jewelry, dresses, books, ornaments, ALL very sweet, BUT I am hooked - the popsicles, soaps! I am always adding playful elements to my decoration, and I want them so much, to a bathroom! Anyway, I am glad the weather is good there, and I also want to say that I wat bracelet number 17 very much! Time is flying, dear Jessica, soon you will be two again :) I always send you good vibes!
ReplyDeleteDenisesPlanet.com
Hi sweet Denise, not everything is temporary - the seasons are eternal, returning each year to grace us with their beautiful presence in three month chunks, before letting the next of their brethren have a moment in the spotlight.
DeleteAren't those popsicle soaps adorable!!! I love peppering my house with playful elements like that as well. I'm all for refinement and elegance, but sometimes it's good to just smile and not take life - or your decor - too seriously and these soaps nail that approach to a tee.
Big hugs & many thanks for your wonderful comment,
♥ Jessica
Great picks Jessica !
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly brooch and the glass flower one from your shop were my favourite :)
Thank you very much, lovely Lorena. Isn't that antique pale pink glass brooch fantastic! It's such a sweet, elegant piece. I think it would suit a tea or garden party especially well.
DeleteBig hugs,
♥ Jessica
Very cool deals! Love the little purse!

Wow, what a fabulous collection this month. Normally, I want to own about half of what you present, but here I want it all! Just all of it, please. ;) The conch charm bracelet went right to my CV wish list (yes, I have a CV wish list), but since we have just come home from Germany where I for once did some shopping, I have to count my money - and my calories, ahem. Just weighed myself this morning and now I simply HAVE to cut down and do some exercise. Fortunately, DH has to too, so we are doing it together. It was a really nice, but too short, trip to Germany. I uploaded four photos to IG this morning, if you want to see. :)
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Sanne, thank you very much for your wonderfully lovely comment and for letting me know that you have a Chronically Vintage wishlist. Oh my stars, that is a touching thing to be told. Thank you! Isn't it a sensational bracelet! I honestly thought it would go quickly, but it's been up for a couple weeks now at least with no takers yet. Perhaps that means its waiting to go home with you. :)
DeleteDon't beat yourself up too harshly, my beautiful friend. It is completely normal to spend and eat a lot when on holiday. In a way, that's part of their fun and appeal. Summer lends itself so well to lighter fair, I find, as big, heavy meals and hot weather rarely mix, so that can be helpful if you are trying to drop a little weight.
I love all the items here, too. The colour palette is me to a tee, especially during the summer. I must admit though, my mind has already started bopping over to thoughts of autumn time this week though, as I begin brainstorming fall post ideas and my Halloween costume for this year as well (I've narrowed the list down to 10 - 12 possible costume ideas so far and want to have determined which one it will be and have bought my custom before September starts - scrambling to try and find one locally at the last minute for Halloween 2014 was not fun and not something I'm eager to repeat again!).
For now though, I'm happy that it's still summer and hope that we'll have nice, sunny weather well into September.
Tons of hugs & happy weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica
The daisy brooch is cute. You know how I feel about my daisies! Yet there is something special about the butterfly brooch. I too have a wish list for your etsy shoppe. This is a post I look forward to. I always enjoy the jewelry, gloves and kitschy items that you find. Thank you for sharing with us! Now about that butterfly...✨
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Christy, thank you very much. I love that butterfly brooch, too. It embodies just the right mix of cuteness and glamour (a combo that has always endeared mid-century fashions in general to me), while also being fabulously timeless. I'm delighted to know that it appeals to you so much and also that you have a dedicated Chronically Vintage wishlist. That is so awesomely touching and encouraging to hear.
DeleteHuge hugs,
♥ Jessica
It's so hard to imagine warm weather as we are in the depths of winter here in Australia, but your gorgeous collection of vintage deals brought a waft of summer air into my world. I particularly adore the peach brooch and the wheel of clip-on earrings. What a charming idea!
ReplyDeleteThe opposite seasons always make me smile. It's so cool that we can have such different weather at the same time. Oh, hemispheres! :D
DeleteThank you very much for your great comment, sweet Vanessa. I hope that the new month is already off to a terrific start for you.
Many hugs,
♥ Jessica
