Giveaway: Enter to win a $100.00 store credit from The Best Vintage Clothing's wonderful Etsy shop

Earlier this month I celebrated my 32nd birthday and as such, wanted to make sure that lots of gifts were on the docket - not so much for myself, but as for all of you, my wonderful readers.

In mid-July we celebrated with a giveaway from fabulous Etsy artist Sabrina from Inky Notions, and today I'm genuinely excited to bring you a second giveaway before the month wraps up.

If you've been following my site for a while now, chances are you may know that The Best Vintage Clothing has been a long time blog sponsor here. We've held numerous giveaways and collaborative outfit posts on CV over the years, each of which focused on The Best Vintage Clothing's main website.

For this fun giveaway however, the spotlight is on The Best Vintage Clothing's Etsy shop, which - much like their standalone site - teams with a beautiful selection of curated vintage and antique pieces spanning the Victorian era to the late 20th century.

Helmed by Laura (aka, Miss Kitty), a lovely lady who has been in the vintage selling business for many years now, The Best Vintage Clothing is a yesteryear fashion lover's dream.

From frocks to jewelry, hats to handbags, the frequently updated selection of offerings that TBVC provides is sure to delight, inspire and tempt just about any fashionista (see for example, the selection in the image below, all of which are, at the time of writing, available in TBVC's Etsy store).

In addition to the giveaway taking place here today (more dets on that in a moment), The Best Vintage Clothing's Etsy shop is currently holding a fabulous 25% off storewide markdown sale this week (the sale is on until Monday August 1, 2016), so if you've been eyeing a treasure of two over there, now is definitely the time to pounce!

It's such an honour to count The Best Vintage Clothing as one of my blog's longest continuously running sponsors and to have the wonderful opportunity to partner up with them again here this month. We'll be doing so, for an outfit post, a bit later in the year and I can hardly wait for that collaboration either.

Okay, first and foremost, I fully realize that it isn't quite summer yet, but we have reached the month that houses its beginning and that's as good as the same thing for me! :)

Secondly, and I really need to mention this off the bat for my own piece of mind, things look strangely bunchy around my waist here because I had a crinoline over a skirt with both a shirt and a cropped cardigan topped into said skirt, all further topped off with a stretch belt. That point was probably visually obvious, but I wanted to bring it up all the same.

Now on with the show!

This amazing 1950s Egyptian novelty print patio set. Oh...my...vintage fashion loving word!!! It is the be all to end all, and I have my wonderful longtime blog sponsor The Best Vintage Clothing, to thank for it.

Their offerings are always incredibly appealing and very stylish, so when Laura, the lovely woman in charge of that online vintage selling empire, offered me the chance to pick one of their beautiful garments to receive as a review gift, I felt like a kid in a candy store to say the least.

Originally I had planned to save debuting this fabulous vintage patio set - my first ever actually (I have a 1950s Southwestern style patio dress, but not a two piece play set/patio set like this novelty print stunner) - for my birthday in July, however there is a chance that Tony may be going to the US for work this summer. As such, given that he’s my usual photographer, that might mean that a shoot on the big day wouldn't happen and there was no way on earth I was going to let the season slip by without sharing this sensational set with you guys!

Boasting a short sleeve, button front blouse and matching full (though not quite circle width) skirt, this dark turquoise, red, pine green, grey and white is beyond awesome!

Made of high quality cotton (that is somewhat redolent of a texture percale), in good shape (there are a few small, faint stains here and there, which I was aware of from the get go and which you really can't see unless you're up close and looking for them), and very charming, this set is such a good representation of the kind of highly desire vintage and antique fashions that The Best Vintage Clothing houses on their standalone website, as well as their eBay store, and their ever-expanding Etsy shop.

Interestingly, these photos were taken fairly early (around 9 am) in the morning, not in the afternoon. This is noteworthy (to me at least :)) because it's the first morning shot I've ever done for my blog.

Though I can see now that I was squinting a bit more than I'd felt like I was at the time and there were some shadows at play in the location (the grassy side embankment of the running track at a school down the street from our house), I flat out loved shooting in the morning and said to Tony that we should definitely aim to do so more often, especially in the late spring, summer, and early fall, when the weather is conducive to it.

This is a bold fifties patio set, both in terms of the colour and the off-the-charts cool Egyptian themed novelty print (which is, itself, another first for me, as I didn't previously own anything with an Egyptian revival design/pattern to it), so I stuck with colours pulled from it for my accessories, which include a super fun 1980s does 1950s green plastic necklace, some classic pearls on my wrists, my beloved red vintage handbag, four hair flowers, emerald green nail polish on my fingers, a green stretch belt from Hell Bunny, a red crinoline underneath the skirt, and black vintage-y style wedge sandals (plus a thin knit grey cropped cardi up top).

I won't even beat around the bush, this is not only one of my favourite outfits of the year so far, but one of my favourites I've blogged about. I love the colours, the fullness of the skirt, the terrific Egyptian novelty print, the silhouette (save for the little bit of "bulk" above the belt), the delightful - and surprisingly handy - lower pockets on the skirt (they're great for tucking your hands into while sitting, which is often tricky with waist or hip height pockets), every last little thing, and I truly want to thank The Best Vintage Clothing for the wonderful gift of this 1950s set, which really does feel like an early birthday present and then some!

Whether I sport both pieces together or separately, you can bet that you'll most likely spot them again here as time goes on and I'm eager to see how many fun outfits I can come up with for both halves of this stellar patio set (I'm envisioning the top working well with jeans and the skirt with everything from sweaters to my black boat neck top).

While nothing is set in stone yet, if Tony does end up traveling for work this summer (he'll be gone for over two months solid, if does), I will be sure to post here and let you guys know. For now though, he's still home and we're both loving the return of (nearly) summer weather, grabbing photo shoots when we can, and celebrating all that is great about this time of the year - very much including that it's the season for charming vintage patio sets (which I'm more in love with now than ever, thanks to the fact that I finally have one of my own!).

Enter to win a $50.00 gift certificate from The Best Vintage Clothing

One of the web's biggest draws - its scope and sheer magnitude of offerings - can also, at times, be amongst its greatest shortcomings, too, because it means that sometimes sites that deserve to be household names fail to come across the radar of so many people who would love to get to know them better. Thankfully, due to the very social nature of the web, that can remedied - at least to a degree - by collaborations between two or more sites. Today I'm thrilled to shine the spotlight for a second time on one of the largest and most well stocked vintage clothing sites that you may never have heard of before: The Best Vintage Clothing.

Teaming with, no joke, thousands of different vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoe, handbag, menswear, children's clothing, and assorted collectible offerings, this powerhouse of a yesteryear fashion source has been diligently hard at work filling its shelves with so many offerings, I truly think it would be a challenge for any vintage fan, no matter the era(s) you hold nearest and dearest, not to find at least one - if not a hundred - offerings from The Best Vintage Clothing that you aren't head-over-heels in love with.

Earlier this year I shone the spotlight on Twenty great non-eBay or Etsy vintage sellers, a camp which this vintage clothing behemoth was (and is) a part of, and which I hope, along with last November's previous giveaway post, helped to introduce this awesome site to more of my readers.

If you're just learning about The Best Vintage Clothing or haven't paid them a visit in a while now, you're in luck!!! Their site continues to expand and get better and better - fittingly, one might say given their name - with each passing month. Boasting everything from budget friendly finds well under a $100 (a hugely appealing draw for vintage fashionista's, like me, who always keep a close eye on their purse strings) to high-end designer brands and uxorious fine jewelry, there's something for everyone at The Best Vintage Clothing, including plenty of pieces that fall squarely between the two camps. Plus, they have an engaging blog that focuses on vintage fashion, which is well worth checking out, too.

I could talk about The Best Vintage Clothing's offerings until the cows came home, but seeing really is believing, so it might just be wisest to invite you to pop on over to their vast and wonderful site for a look at the seemingly endless array of great vintage listings their yourself! There you'll discover piece such as the four highlightsed below, and oodles of other great vintage finds that are sure to provide some serious wishlist fodder and shopping spree material alike!

{From top left to bottom right: 1940s nubby orange rayon two-piece skirt and top set, Green fruit salad and blue rhinestone 1950s clip-on earrings, 1940s hand painted wooden novelty hourse brooch, 1950s hot pink and orange cocktail dress and matching hat set}

If you'd like to cross at least one of your newly coveted vintage treasures off your list, you may just be in luck, as I'm pleased as punch to say that The Best Vintage Clothing has very kindly offered one lucky Chronically Vintage reader the chance to win a $50.00 gift certificate which can be used towards the purchase of any item you like for their expansive inventory. Can you say "sweet" or what!!!

Worthy of visiting and shopping from often, The Best Vintage Clothing deserves in my entirely unbiased opinion to be a household name amongst vintage fashion fans the world over (they ship internationally, which is awesome for those like me who are located outside of the US). Few sellers outside of, or even on, Etsy or eBay, have the near department store-like scoop and variety of vintage items for sale that this site does and that alone makes them the kind of resource you'll want to bookmark and visit often.

I sincerely appreciate and want thank The Best Vintage Clothing for teaming up with Chronically Vintage again and for giving one fabulously lucky reader the chance to go on a $50.00 mini shopping spree of their own at what really is one of the best kept secrets on the web!
